About the Manager

Craig M. Silvers, CFA, is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Bricks & Mortar Capital.  Prior to forming Bricks & Mortar Capital in 2002, from 1994 to 2001 Mr. Silvers was Managing Director and Equity Analyst at Sutro & Co./Tucker Anthony Sutro, a leading investment banking and stock brokerage firm, where he was responsible for researching REIT and real estate securities, as well as doing research in the hotel/casino sector.  Mr. Silvers previously worked as an Equity Analyst at Crowell, Weedon & Co. from 1989 to 1994, where he researched investments of REITs and various other firms.  He also served as a market research analyst at First Equity Group (an owner/developer of retail properties) during 1988; and as a Compliance Examiner for the National Association of Securities Dealers from 1986 to 1987.

Craig Silvers' independent analysis is proven through his willingness to put “sell” ratings on stocks, including investment banking clients, before sell ratings were trendy (and required) on Wall Street.  In a report dated November 18, 1999, Mr. Silvers was the first sell-side analyst to predict a significant REIT stock rebound in 2000.  Mr. Silvers firmly believes that investors need independent and thorough analysis when selecting investments.

Mr. Silvers, a native of Los Angeles, graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in Finance, and received an MBA from the University of Southern California.  He is a member of the Association of Investment Management and Research and the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts.  Mr. Silvers is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has held a Series 7 (General Securities representative) License and Series 16 (Supervisory Analyst) License.  Mr. Silvers has been named by The Wall Street Journal an All-Star Analyst in the Real Estate sector.
